Praise for this book
Another delightful ‘cozy’ whodunnit mystery, the fifth in this series and, with a dash of humour, it kept me entertained until the very end. I loved learning more about the various characters who come alive with Emodi’s detailed description of each. There’s Valerie Rankin, her humanity, and again trying her best to solve the murder in her own ‘sleuthing’ ways, her family, and the secret of the crafty senior ladies of Seaview Manor. Set in the fictional Gasper Cove, it reads like a real rural community of Nova Scotia and I could just ‘see’ the winding roads.
It is an easy read and I would recommend this crafty little book to anyone who enjoys mysteries.
This was a very enjoyable read. It brought to life what a small community is really like. The characters are believable in their warmth and peculiarities. Barbara’s description of people, the community and geography bring them to life. There is mystery without the blood and gore of so many books now being published.
A thoroughly enjoyable mystery from a perceptive writer. I especially like the way that, in just a few words, she can bring her characters to life. As a Canadian, I can appreciate all the local references which add colour and authenticity.
I was given an advance review copy of the book, and I am happy to recommend it to other readers.
